Goals & Objectives
Construction Volunteer Driver Role
The construction volunteer driver will support a local housing project by helping move workers, tools, and supplies between spaces. This role helps the Construction Site Supervisor keep the project organized and running smoothly.
Goals and Objectives
First, the main goal of this role is to provide reliable transportation support for the construction team. Volunteers may run errands, move small tools, and shuttle a construction worker to and from the job site when needed.
In addition, this support helps the team save time. As a result, construction workers can focus more on the project and complete daily tasks more efficiently.
About the Project
The organization recently purchased a four-bedroom home southwest of downtown with support through One City Peterborough. The project team plans to expand the home and create more housing.
The team will add two Additional Rental Units, also called ARUs, to the back of the house. They will also improve the inside of the home.
Community Impact
This project supports access to more housing in an established neighbourhood. By adding new rental units, the project helps create more options for people who need a safe place to live.
Therefore, the construction volunteer driver plays an important behind-the-scenes role. Even small transportation tasks can help the project move forward.
Volunteer Outcomes
Volunteers can build experience in teamwork, communication, organization, and community service. Also, this role is a good fit for someone who enjoys driving, helping with practical tasks, and supporting housing-focused work.
