HOPE
We give hope through the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ.
SERVICE

DIGNITY
We respect and value each other, recognizing everyone’s worth.
STEWARDSHIP
We responsibly manage the resources entrusted to us.
A wide variety of emergency needs are met on a daily basis by trained staff. Typical emergencies include food, medicine or other household needs.
The Salvation Army is an active member, with a specific role to play, in both City and County of Peterborough Emergency Response Plans. Members of the local response team are also available to assist in other geographic areas if their services are requested.
Under contract with the Ministry of Community and Social Services as well as the City of Peterborough, we provide financial management and counseling for clients who are unable to manage financial matters on their own. Clients are encouraged to eventually assume responsibility for their own money matters.
*Sponsored in part by the Social Services Department, City of Peterborough.
Breakfast is provided Monday to Friday for those who are homeless. The Breakfast serves a brown bag Breakfast with hot elements twice a week and the other three days are continental. Service is provided at no charge from 9:00a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on the specified weekdays.
The Family Services Department provides an emergency gift layette parcel for newborns. Mothers of these newborns also receive information as to where they can find additional help after leaving the hospital.
The Salvation Army coordinates volunteer efforts as well as community resources and donations to provide Christmas Assistance and Toys for families and individuals in need in the Peterborough and surrounding area.
