About Us
ReFrame has been lighting up the darkest time of year with documentary film and media art, justice, and community since 2005. Established as a multi-day, multi-venue film festival in downtown Nogojiwanong/Peterborough, ReFrame has added an online platform in recent years, making our curated midwinter festival offerings available on-demand across the country. We are also committed to offering ancillary programming year-round, sparking conversation and action on pressing issues in our community and beyond.
Our identity is defined by our commitment to environmental responsibility, human rights and social justice; our goal of increasing access to the arts, and our resolve to showcase the work of local filmmakers. Our programs emerge from submissions and pressing issues, highlighting the work of Indigenous, BIPOC and disabled artists, as well as women and LGBTQ2SIA+ folks.
Volunteers are the heart of the festival, and there are many ways to serve your community with ReFrame. From governance with our working Board, fundraising through our partnership with Delta Bingo and Gaming, offering technical support to our virtual audience, to volunteering in person at our main midwinter festival, there’s something for everyone at ReFrame! For more information, please contact us at info@reframefilmfestival.ca, or check out the volunteer opportunities on our website.
