Key Activities
Peterborough’s Dragon Boat Festival's Mission / Vision
The goals of the festival are to:
– Fundraise in support of breast cancer screening, diagnoses, and treatment at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC).
– Increase awareness in the community about breast cancer.
– Provide opportunities for breast cancer survivors and the larger community to participate in dragon    boating; a fun, exciting and rewarding water sport that emphasizes community team building and contributes to the health and well-being of breast cancer survivors and members of the larger community.
About Us
Peterborough’s Dragon Boat Festival has been a community staple event since 2002. We’ve had the same goal since day one: to make sure that patients from across our region have access to the tests and treatments that could save their lives, right here in our community.
Everyone participating in the Festival has a story – a way in which their own life, or the life of a friend, colleague or loved one has been touched by breast or another form of cancer. We encourage everyone to get involved, whether it be as a volunteer, a sponsor or a participant.
In addition to a fun day of racing, we offer an artisan and food vendors market, a family fun zone, a beer garden, and much more.
We raise money to help fund world-class breast and other cancer screening, diagnosis and treatment at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC).
To date, the Festival had raised more than $4.2 million!
