Peterborough Theatre Guild

Organization Summary
The Peterborough Theatre Guild produces eight or nine plays a year in our own facility. Volunteers make this all possible. It can take a team of up to 100 people to make a show happen. Some work for one evening, some design and build before a show opens and some volunteer each night of performance. Others serve year-round on our Board and other committees.
For those new to theatre, we have skilled and talented people who can work with you while you learn.  We always welcome people to fill the following roles:
• Box office (processing ticket orders in advance and at the door)
• Ushers
• Bartenders
• Set building
• Set painting
• Props (creating and locating them and managing them backstage during a play)
• Technical (running sound and lighting)
• Stagehand
• Stage make-up (experience with make-up helps)
• Production assistant
• Costumes (sewing experience needed)
• Dressers and wardrobe (assisting with costumes during a play)
Those with more experience can assist with:
• Stage managing
• Producing
• Directing
• Choreographing
• Musical Direction
• Set Design
• Costume Design
• Lighting Design
• Sound Design

Peterborough Theatre Guild's Mission / Vision
For more than 55 years, the Guild has provided high quality theatre to the Peterborough community. We proudly continue this tradition and hope that our audience will continue to enjoy performances and get involved by volunteering onstage and backstage.
About Us
The Peterborough Theatre Guild is the only producing theatre company in the region which owns its own theatre. The troupe performs its plays in the Guildhall located at 364 Rogers Street in Peterborough. The building (formerly St. Luke’s Anglican Church) was gutted by fire in 1959. A local group of theatre enthusiasts raised the funds to purchase the old church and after extensive renovations, staged their first play just a few years later. Since 1965 the Guild has entertained thousands of area residents and visitors with award winning live theatre.
