PATH Peterborough Action for Tiny Homes

Organization Summary
PATH is a non-profit organization that aims to create a community of tiny homes to help people experiencing homelessness. PATH’s goal is to build a village-like community of sleeping cabins supported by a communal facility with washrooms, showers, laundry, kitchen, dining and gathering area as well as office space for staff and outreach workers. Phase Two will be a community of self-sufficient tiny homes. PATH relies on volunteers and social agencies to provide wraparound services to residents and help people transition to a brighter future.

PATH Peterborough Action for Tiny Homes's Mission / Vision
The PATH mission is to provide homes to individuals experiencing chronic homelessness. Residents have the opportunity in this intentional and relational model to share their gifts, supported by those in the wider community, working together to welcome, nurture, heal and serve.
Those currently homeless and their allies form a tiny homes community (or communities) starting in 2022. PATH welcomes sponsors and social enterprise partnerships, undertakes fundraising, reviews applications and ensures the smooth running of the independent, economically-viable community through use of volunteers and staff.
About Us
PATH was incorporated as a nonprofit in 2022. Our Board meets monthly and sets policy, which is implemented by a Steering Committee which meets weekly. Working groups include Fundraising, Volunteer Coordination, Site Operation, Land Acquisition, Communications, Finance. We are an all-volunteer group. We partner with other agencies to hire a professional help when needed. Volunteers and potential residents are offered trauma-aware training. About 40 volunteers keep us going, with support from time to time from many others.
