KYO operates two program streams:

The Orchestras, a fee-based orchestra-training program for instrumentalists aged 8-28 years.

UPBEAT! Downtown, a subsidized after-school music education program for Peterborough children who face barriers. This program includes a meal, instrument lessons, choir, and other. activities.

We work with a wide range of volunteers to help facilitate this programming. KYO is always in need of more dedicated people who want to get involved and help support the children in our community. Volunteer roles include, but are not limited to: kitchen support, meal service, cleanup, set up and tear down, office assistance, music class assistance, etc.

Kawartha Youth Orchestra (KYO) is a registered charitable nonprofit organization (CRA #89168 2700 RR 0001) and is supported in part by Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund, Ontario Trillium Foundation, and The City of Peterborough Community Investment Grant.
