Volunteer Instructor

Our Volunteer Instructors are responsible for leading the group in a weekly art-making activity during our Open Studio program, either once or over two consecutive sessions. The activity can be in the activity/medium of your choosing, including but not limited to knitting, painting, drawing, sewing, embroidery, etc.. This role is intended for artists/community members who would like to share a skill or technique with others, and are interested in supporting low-barrier art-making at Artspace.

Specific Tasks / Responsibilities

– Lead a beginner level art-making activities of your choosing (coloring, painting, pinch pot making, embroidery, etc.)
– Leading a short Tutorial at the start of the session
– Checking in on community members and making art alongside them.
– Answering questions

– To facilitate conversations and relationships building in the group 

– To make art-making more accessible.
