About Results Canada

Results Canada is a grassroots advocacy organization led by passionate staff and volunteer advocates. Together, they work to build the political will needed to end extreme poverty around the world.

The organization focuses on global health equity, access to quality education, and economic opportunities.

What “Generating Political Will” Means

Generating political will means encouraging leaders to make strong decisions that support people living in poverty.

As a Results Canada volunteer, you will learn how to engage with your Member of Parliament, senators, and even the Prime Minister. These leaders can improve policies and make investments that help Canada do its fair share to end extreme poverty.

What Volunteer Advocates Do

Volunteer advocates raise awareness and support monthly campaigns. For example, you may write to the media, contact decision makers, support global institutions, attend events, fundraise, and use your voice to educate others.

In addition, volunteers report their actions back to Results Canada and take part in campaign activities each month.

What You Will Gain

As a volunteer advocate with Results Canada, you will build confidence and learn how to speak up for a better world.

You will also develop leadership, civic engagement, advocacy, writing, public speaking, and communication skills. As a result, this role can help you build your CV, earn certificates, and connect with a vibrant community of like-minded people.

Time Commitment and Expectations

Volunteer advocates commit to one year with Results Canada.

This role takes about 1–2 hours per week. During that time, volunteers learn about monthly campaigns, take action, attend virtual calls, and help raise awareness about the issues Results Canada supports.

How Results Canada Supports Volunteers

Results Canada supports volunteers with staff guidance, expert knowledge, group leaders, and Volunteer Ambassadors.

In addition, the organization provides training, campaign resources, and clear information about the issues. Therefore, volunteers have the tools they need to take meaningful action.

Results Canada also celebrates volunteer efforts through merit badges, awards, and events.

Community and Connection

Results Canada organizes a bi-annual in-person conference where volunteers can meet peers, learn more about the work, and feel inspired.

Volunteers may also attend events in their area. These events help them connect with like-minded people and organize as a community.
