Ovarian Cancer Canada is seeking junior photographers to take photos and video footage at select Walk locations across the country. The Walk festivities take place for approximately 2-3 hours the morning of Sunday, September 10, 2023. Photographers and videographers will receive credit for their photos and videos used on social media, and will be provided an on-site contact to check-in.

We are also looking for walk coordinators, committee members and day-of volunteers across the country.

 

Goals & Objectives

It’s time to pick up the pace for ovarian cancer! Join the Ovarian Cancer Canada Walk of Hope, the largest and most powerful event of its kind in the country. The Walk is happening in communities across the country in-person and virtually Sunday, September 8, 2024.

Community Impact

Survival rates for women with ovarian cancer haven’t improved in 50 years? Ovarian cancer is the most fatal women’s cancer in Canada.  Approximately 3,000 Canadian women will be diagnosed this year and one out of every two women diagnosed with this disease isn’t expected to live to see another five years.This event is an annual event that has raised over $32 million dollars for research, awareness and support of those diagnosed and their families

Volunteer Outcomes

Volunteers will gain the personal satisfaction of knowing that they are helping people in their community who are going through a very devastating illness.  They will gain skills in event organization and dealing with the public.  They will meet new people and have a fun day.
