On-Site Volunteers- Summer

On-site volunteers play a key role in guest services, logistics, and also in fundraising—whether it’s through selling merchandise, raffle tickets, or encouraging donations. These efforts help keep Musicfest free and accessible for everyone. Successful volunteers at Peterborough Musicfest bring a positive attitude, reliability, and a strong sense of teamwork. They’re adaptable, quick-thinking, and ready to help wherever needed. Good communication, problem-solving abilities, and a genuine enthusiasm for community events are essential. Whether you’re guiding guests, managing logistics, or supporting fundraising, your dedication helps create an unforgettable festival experience for all.
Specific Tasks / Responsibilities
Strong communication and people skills Friendly, welcoming demeanour Knowledge of event layout and seating areas Ability to remain calm in crowded or noisy environments Conflict resolution skills
Sales or fundraising experience Confidence handling cash and POS systems Comfortable initiating conversations and making donation requests Outgoing personality and persuasive communication Knowledge of festival mission and impact (to explain value of donations)
Strong spatial awareness and safety consciousness Ability to give clear directions under pressure CPR/First Aid certification (a plus) Visibility gear or willingness to wear it Physical stamina (standing for extended periods, possibly in weather)
Excellent verbal communication Patience and a service-oriented mindset Familiarity with Peterborough and surrounding attractions Ability to manage lost & found, handle inquiries, and guide guests
