  • Participation in committee meetings (occasionally, and typically on Zoom)
  • Draft applications for subsequent review by other committee members
  • Edit/review draft applications
  • Contact suppliers/contractors for written quotations
  • Draft budgets for project applications
  • Seek out new grant opportunities and attend information sessions about upcoming grants
  • Oversee approved grant projects and ensure the work being done meets the parameters of the grant and comes in on-budget
  • Write/review final reports for completed grant projects
  • Attend grant recognition events

We are looking for new members to join our Grants Committee to help us complete grant applications on behalf of the Trent Valley Archives, and to help oversee successful projects

Community Impact

As we receive no regular government funding, we depend on grant applications to help us repair and improve our heritage building. We also depend on grant applications to help us to continue preserving our extensive collection of historical documents and making them accessible to the public. Your volunteer contribution will help us mitigate the expenses needed to sustain both our heritage building and our ongoing archival projects.

Volunteer Outcomes

Through your efforts to complete grant applications on behalf of the Trent Valley Archives, you’ll learn about what is required to maintain both a heritage property and a collection of historical documents. You’ll also get to see the fruits of your labour come to life whenever we’re given a grant to complete a project and the project is completed!
