Christmas Kettle Campaign Volunteer

The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers to help with the annual Christmas Kettle Campaign. The campaign kicked off on Nov. 16 and will run until Dec. 23. Kettles will be located throughout the community, including Lansdowne Place Mall. To help with the campaign, the Salvation Army is searching for volunteers to stand at a kettle. With generally five shifts per day per kettle, some days may require up to 30 volunteers. The shifts at Lansdowne Place Mall (645 Lansdowne St. W) are 1 – 3 pm, 3 – 5 pm, 5 – 7 pm and the shifts at Walmart Supercentre North (1002 Chemong Rd) are 1:30 – 3:30 pm, 3:30 – 5:30 pm, 5:30 – 7:30 pm.  “The call is out for more kettle volunteers this Christmas season!”

Goals & Objectives

This year, a goal of $110,000 was set that can only be accomplished through the faithful support of fellow community members. Donations, no matter how big or small, are important, whether they be of a monetary nature or volunteer time.

Community Impact

Money collected is used to help those in Peterborough and the surrounding area who need it the most. The Salvation Army does that through its Food Bank, Breakfast Program, Christmas food assistance, the Christmas Toy Shop and a variety of other programs.
