Preferred Qualifications
Specific Tasks / Responsibilities
Our duties include posting/storing our charity sign, welcoming customers, calling back the four or five digit card # of the winner – no longer have to call out the called bingo numbers, dispose of used bingo cards into recycling, smile and interact with customers.
Goals & Objectives
We need two volunteers for each of our bingo assignments – typically once a month, but can sometimes pick up an extra session. We also have a “Tap’n Play” session each month that only requires one person. There is an on-line training session to complete, then a shadowing session to orient you to the duties required. Note that the bingo sessions are 2 1/4 hours and you will be on your feet the whole time.
Community Impact
We receive proceeds each month which are directed to our Summer Camp Program. Each year, our goal is to send over 100 kids to camp for either a one week overnight or two week day camp experience. Last year we were able to send 120 kids to camp and this year it increased to over 140. We support children and youth that are involved with the Kawartha Haliburton Children’s Aid Society – many of which would never get to experience the joy of camp without our support. It provides a sense of belonging, builds confidence, promotes respect for nature, encourages outdoor physical activity and they make new friends.
Volunteer Outcomes
Help us raise more money for at-risk children, youth and families that need our support to thrive and flourish.
