"Using The Platform" FAQs
Click on the “Sign Up” button on our homepage. You’ll have the option to register as a Volunteer or an Organization. Follow the prompts, fill in the necessary details, and you’ll be set up in no time!
On the login page, click on the “Forgot Password?” link. Enter your registered email, and we’ll send you instructions on how to reset your password.
After logging in, navigate to “My Profile” and click on the “Edit Profile” option. Here, you can update your information and save the changes.
Use the search bar on our homepage or go to the “Opportunities” section. You can filter results based on causes, skills, location, and other criteria to find the perfect match.
Organizations can click on the “Post an Opportunity” button in their dashboard. Fill in the details of the volunteer position, review, and submit. Your posting will be reviewed by our team before it goes live.
Currently, there’s no limit. However, we encourage organizations to keep their listings updated, removing filled positions to ensure volunteers always see relevant opportunities.
Yes! When browsing opportunities, click on the “Save” or “Bookmark” icon. You can view these saved opportunities in your account dashboard.
Once you’re logged in, navigate to the messaging section in your dashboard. Here, you can initiate conversations with volunteers or organizations, based on your account type.

Organization FAQs
Navigate to the “For Organizations” section on our website. After creating an “Organization” account, you’ll have the ability to list and manage your volunteer opportunities.
At this time, there is no fee for listing opportunities. Volunteer Peterborough currently offers free listings for all nonprofit organizations.
However, our goal is to make connections and support the community, and to do so, we need to build a financially sustainable organizational model. With that in mind, we intend to introduce different tiers of organizational accounts in December 2023. Some of these will be paid subscriptions, which will include several perks to increase the visibility of your listings.
